Local Author to Speak on Friday, May 17
Leslie Crawford will discuss the process of writing her book, Coronado, in a free lecture at the Coronado Historical Association on Friday, May 17, 2013, from 5:30 - 7pm.
Crawford,
a longtime resident, will discuss what she learned about her hometown
from the writing process, how it changed her perspective on the island’s
history and why it’s important to gather, document and teach the
history of Coronado.
In 2011, Crawford published Coronado in association with Arcadia Publishing, whose “Images of America”
collection celebrates the history of towns across the country.
Crawford’s book includes more than 200 vintage images that chronicle the
unique history of Coronado.
This fifth event in CHA's new Wine & Lecture Series is free to
the public. Wine will be served for a $5 donation, as well as water and
iced tea. No RSVP required. Books will be available for purchase and
author signings. The Lecture Hall is located at the Coronado Museum of
History & Art, 1100 Orange Avenue.
