The next meeting of the Coronado Democratic Club will be
held on Tuesday, May 21 in the Winn Room of the Public Library. The meeting will commence at 7:00 p.m. Refreshments and coffee will be served
starting at 6:30 p.m.
The guest speaker will be ACLU attorney Lori Shellenberger
who will address the club on election reform, reducing barriers to voter
participation and why the ACLU is so vital in defending and preserving the
individual rights and liberties guaranteed in our Constitution.
Since joining the ACLU, she advocated for the mapping of the
first majority-minority supervisor district in San Diego County; worked to
increase compliance with the National Voter Registration Act and Section 203 of
the Voting Rights Act; and provided
technical assistance to San Diego non-profits to build capacity for civic
engagement work.
Please note this is a different day and time from our usual
Saturday meetings. If anyone requires
assistance in transportation to the meeting please call 435-1911.
