This week is Coronado’s annual Homefront Judging.
If nominations are being considered, I would like to nominate 1114 G Avenue for a BLACK RIBBON.
Flawed decisions by our misguided Mayor & Council allowed a thoughtless developer to create blight in an otherwise pristine neighborhood by demolishing a beautiful historic home and gardens, with no plans in place for its replacement. This grant of destruction by our elected representatives gives Coronado a black eye, and as a further affront to our sensibilities, we nearby residents are forced to endure for many months (or years) a broken 1913 sidewalk and a hideous construction fence encroaching into the public right-of-way one-half block from Coronado Beach.
Congratulations, Mayor & Council (Barbara Denny dissenting)!
We hereby award you a BLACK RIBBON.
