This Week With Ron's Garage

Greetings from the Garage,

 

A major milestone is upon us! Gary Taylor's last gig in San Diego before he departs for Hawaii is this Friday at the Island Sports & Spirits. He just finished his final gigs with Ron's Garage and The Dregs of Sada last weekend and now the real "last gig" is almost upon us. Gary leave on Saturday so this will be your last chance for a while, to see one of San Diego's finest in action.

 

Gary…I just want you to know that you will be missed. I've said it before and I'll say it again…if there are five top drummers in San Diego, you are one of those guys. You're one of the best musicians I've ever played with. You've been a great roommate on roadtrips, you are one of my dearest and best friends and my brother. We wish you great success in Hawaii and we look forward to your return at the end of summer. Norwegian Cruise Line is lucky to have you. Safe travels and lets rock on Friday my bruddah!!! I think we're in for some big fun that night!

 

With Gary's departure, we'd like to welcome a couple of new additions to our lineup. Phil Lean will be joining us on the Sun Deck throughout most of the summer. He will be playing bass guitar and singing some amazing lead and harmony vocals! Ed Masi from Mad For Mary will be joining Ron's Garage and Gonzology on drums at all the other gigs outside of the Sun Deck.

 

We would like to remind you that Ron's Garage will be playing Saturdays on the Sun Deck at the Hotel Del Coronado through the month of April. We'll keep you updated about Saturday's in May.

 

This week's gigs:

 

• Thursday, April 15th…need a little celebration or relief from Tax Day? Stop by at the Boathouse from 6pm to 9pm. I'll be performing solo. Great food and drinks and great atmosphere. Check out "April Live Music @ The Boathouse."

 

• Friday, April 16th, Ron Wheeler will be at the Babcock & Story from 8pm to midnight

• Also on Friday, April 16th, GONZOLOGY will be at the Island Sports & Sprits from 9pm to 1am for the GARY TAYLOR ALOHA SHOW!!!

 

• Saturday afternoon, April 17th, Ron's Garage will be on the Sun Deck at the Del from 2pm to 6m.

• Saturday evening, April 17th, Gonzo will be at the Babcock & Story from 8pm to midnight.

• Also, Saturday evening, April 17th, Ron's Garage will be at the Island Sports & Spirits from 9pm to 1am.
