A recent article in the Union Tribune said: The sea level will rise 17 inches by 2050, and 5 feet by 2100, which is included in regional plans. Will your house be full of water, will you raise the foundation, or make it a house boat? Perhaps, it is time think about it, should you be in the low areas of Coronado. I do recall in 1985 during an ocean storm that seawater and seaweed ended up on the west end of Ocean Blvd., and that was at the ocean's current height. I would suggest that the City start having meetings to discusss what should be done, if anything, such as extending the Ocean Blvd. rock wall filled with cement to the end of runway 29 at NAS that is 55 feet above sea level, and any other such remedies, at other low or lower locations in Coronado. It will take until about 2050 to get something underway, and decide how to pay for it? Nobody else is going to really worry about Coronado, but us! Your kids or grandkids may be concerned though that they will not be living in your house one day. Be prepared!
