Spreckels Mansion Has Been Removed From The Agenda . . . Again

The Spreckels Mansion Historic Alteration Permit was to be discussed at this upcoming City Council Meeting on Tuesday, November 18th. This was in regard to making viewable changes to the historic, Mills Act home. 

Late yesterday afternoon, the owner's attorney pulled the item from the City Council Agenda.  Associate City Planner Ann McCaull sent an email stating "The attorney representing 1043 Ocean has submitted a letter pulling the item from the agenda.  It will not be heard by the City Council on the 18th."

I called City Hall but Ms. McCaull was not in. I spoke with an associate who verified the information but could not tell me when the item may be put back on the agenda. I guess this will be heard by our newly elected City Council. 

If you were planning to attend this Tuesday to hear this meeting, please correct your calendar. We will get the word out just as soon as we know when the item will reappear on the agenda.

HISTORIC SPRECKELS BUILDING...Hopefully the city council will act in favor of keeping the building an historic one instead of accomodating developers. What a breath of fresh air that will be.
